SDP Candidate Agboola Urges Oyo Voters to Resist Intimidation

On Tuesday, Mogaji Olusegun Agboola, the governorship candidate for the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in Oyo State, addressed voters at a stakeholders’ meeting held at the SDP secretariat in New Bodija, Ibadan. He urged Nigerian voters to resist intimidation and entrenched political interests, citing the recent Osun state governorship election as a pertinent example.

Agboola remarked on the overwhelming political pressure faced by voters, noting that despite the intimidation from various governors, the rightful winner of the Osun election was acknowledged by President Bola Tinubu. He asserted that the SDP is the true home of progressives in Nigeria, highlighting its historical significance and connection to the June 12 democratic struggle, which he attributed to the sacrifices of the Abiola family.

Agboola emphasized the need for Nigerians to reconsider their political affiliations, positioning the SDP as a party rooted in Nigeria's progressive political tradition.
