Retired Nigerian Army Major Sues Military Over Unlawful Redeployment and Rights Violation

Retired Nigerian Army Major Toy Akinlad has filed a lawsuit against the Nigerian Army in the National Industrial Court in Abuja. Akinlad alleges unlawful redeployment, coercion to continue service despite resigning, and violation of his rights.

He claims his resignation should have taken effect upon receipt and subsequent military actions were unconstitutional. Akinlad accuses the army of imposing sanctions without due process and violating established army protocols.

He seeks various declaratory reliefs and damages totaling N50 million for the alleged violations.
