Uzodimma Urges Diplomatic Support for Tinubu's Reforms

On a recent occasion, Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State called on diplomats to support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s economic reforms, which are designed to restore investor confidence and enhance Nigeria's macroeconomic stability. Uzodimma, who chairs the Progressive Governors Forum, noted that the Tinubu administration's policies have begun to yield positive results, including the removal of fuel subsidies and the floating of the naira.

He described the subsidy regime as a significant channel for corruption that drained public finances over the decades. The removal of these subsidies is expected to free up resources for infrastructure and social investments, thereby increasing revenue for the federal account.

Uzodimma pointed to major infrastructure projects, such as the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway, as evidence of renewed federal commitment to national development. He also emphasized the importance of verifying data and assessing Nigeria's progress against the narratives circulating on social media, concluding that Nigeria presents stronger opportunities for international partnerships and investment.
