Ribadu Praises Kaduna Security Collaboration Success

Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, the National Security Adviser, commended the partnership between the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA) and the Kaduna State Government during the graduation ceremony of Kaduna’s first batch of Armed Forest Guards. This collaboration has led to measurable improvements in security in Kaduna State over the past two years.

Ribadu emphasized that security challenges are best addressed through coordinated action rather than competition among institutions. He noted that each state faces unique security challenges, necessitating strong collaboration between federal institutions and state governments.

The Armed Forest Guard initiative, approved by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in May 2025, is a significant shift in Nigeria’s internal security strategy, aimed at reclaiming forests that have become operational bases for terrorists and bandits. The ONSA is responsible for providing strategic leadership and coordinating training for this initiative nationwide.
