NSCDC Officer Kalu Samuel Ali Shot Dead in Rivers State

On March 9, at approximately 2:45 PM, Kalu Samuel Ali, an Assistant Superintendent of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), was shot dead during a routine patrol in Chokocho, Etche, Rivers State. The attack occurred when a group targeted the NSCDC team, resulting in Ali being shot in the head.

He was subsequently rushed to the University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital (UPTH) for medical attention, where he was later confirmed dead. In response to the attack, security personnel returned fire, injuring a tipper driver involved in the incident, who received treatment at a separate medical facility.

The Rivers State Police Command has deployed additional security personnel to the area to prevent further escalation and to maintain law and order, while efforts to apprehend the perpetrators are ongoing.
