ADC Chieftain Accuses Wike's Supporters of Arson

Isaiah Thomas, the chief whip of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Ikwerre and the party’s coordinator in the affected ward, accused supporters of FCT Minister Nyesom Wike of attacking his family home in Omuoko village, Aluu, Rivers State. The incident occurred in the early hours of Wednesday, shortly after an ADC meeting at the compound.

Thomas alleged that armed attackers sought him out, assaulted his mother and grandmother, and destroyed properties, including cash belonging to tenants. He claimed the attackers arrived around 2 a.m., initially posing as security personnel before demanding information about him.

Reports indicated that the attackers damaged doors and windows and set parts of the compound on fire. Thomas stated that the attack was politically motivated due to his activities with the ADC.

His mother, Uchechi Thomas, confirmed that the attackers appeared to be searching for her son and that the family did not know their identities. The incident has raised concerns within the ADC amid increasing political activities ahead of the 2027 general elections.
