ADC Member's Family Home Attacked in Rivers State

The family home of Isaiah Thomas, a member of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), was attacked and set ablaze in the Aluu community of Ikwerre Local Government Area, Rivers State, in the early hours of Wednesday. This arson attack occurred just 24 hours after the official commencement of campaigns for the presidential and National Assembly elections.
Uchechi Thomas, Isaiah's mother, reported that the attackers arrived in large numbers, armed with guns, and set several buildings within the family compound on fire, destroying household property in the process. She indicated that the attackers seemed to be searching for her son, who had hosted a meeting of ADC members at their home the previous day.
The identities of the assailants remain unknown. In response to the incident, Charles Wobodo, the Chairman of Ikwerre Local Government Area, condemned the attack and dispatched his Chief Security Officer to assess the situation, assuring residents that efforts would be made in collaboration with security agencies to identify and bring the perpetrators to justice.
