Police Investigate Arson at ADC Member's Home in Rivers

The Rivers State Police Command has initiated an investigation into the attack and burning of the family residence of Isaiah Madubochi, a member of the African Democratic Congress, in Omuoko village, Aluu, Ikwerre Local Government Area. This incident took place in the early hours of Wednesday, just 24 hours after the commencement of campaigns for the 2027 presidential and National Assembly elections.

ASP Agabe Blessing, the command’s spokesperson, confirmed that investigations are ongoing to determine the cause of the fire and the alleged attack. Reports indicate that more than five armed men stormed the residence, demanding to see Madubochi, who was not present.

The attackers ransacked the property, looted belongings, and set parts of the building ablaze. Uchechi, Madubochi’s mother, alleged that the assailants were searching for her son due to his political affiliations.

The Chairman of Ikwerre Local Government Area, Charles Nwobodo, condemned the incident and vowed to collaborate with security agencies to identify the perpetrators.
