Proprietress Appeals for Reopening After Toddler's Death

The death of two-year-old Wynni Akaku at Wisdom Gate International School in Elimgbo, Rivers State, has prompted the school's proprietress, Toyon Obikoya, to appeal to the state government for the reopening of the institution. Following the incident on March 17, parents, including Wynni's father, Dr.

Iasuaka Akaku, and Mr. Chinyer Akaku, have accused the school of attempting to cover up the circumstances surrounding their daughter's death, which occurred when a bookshelf fell on her while she was asleep in the classroom.

The Rivers State government, represented by Dr. Peter Nwagor, has ordered the school to remain closed until the issues surrounding the incident are fully addressed.

Parents are concerned about the prolonged closure's impact on their children's education and the jobs of teachers at the school. Obikoya expressed her empathy for the grieving families and emphasized the need for the school to resume activities to mitigate the negative effects on students.
