Rivers United, Enyimba Rank Among World's Top 500 Clubs

In the latest IFFHS ranking, Rivers United and Enyimba have been recognized among the world's top 500 football clubs. Rivers United is positioned at 278th with 361.75 points, while Enyimba ranks 421st with 280 points.

This ranking evaluates club performance over a five-year period from January 1, 2021, to December 31, 2025, considering their achievements in domestic leagues, continental competitions, and global tournaments. Rivers United's rise is marked by their victory in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) during the 2021-22 season and a quarter-final finish in the CAF Confederation Cup in the 2022-23 season.

They have also qualified for the group phase of the 2025-26 CAF Champions League. Enyimba, a historically significant club in Nigeria, has secured nine domestic championships and remains active in CAF competitions.

Despite their global recognition, both clubs face challenges as the NPFL has slipped in the IFFHS league rankings, dropping to 91st in the world.
