RMB Nigeria Secures AIHN's M&A Deal of the Year Award

RMB Nigeria has been awarded the M&A Deal of the Year 2025 by the Association of Issuing Houses of Nigeria for its role as the exclusive financial adviser to Helios Investment Partners in the $583 million acquisition of Axxela Limited by BlueCore Gas InfraCo Limited. The transaction involved Helios divesting its 75 percent equity interest in Axxela, while Sojitz Corporation sold its remaining 25 percent stake through tag-along rights, resulting in BlueCore acquiring full ownership of Axxela.

This transaction is noted as one of the significant private equity exits in Nigeria's midstream energy sector, emphasizing the importance of strategic capital and investor participation in developing energy infrastructure. Bayo Ajayi, CEO of RMB Nigeria, stated that such transactions highlight the need for sophisticated financial advice and execution.

Chidi Iwuchukwu, Executive Director and Head of Investment Banking, Broader Africa at RMB Nigeria, noted the importance of understanding deal dynamics and strategic considerations in supporting Helios through this milestone.
