RMD Joins Centre LSD to Combat Gender-Based Violence

Veteran actor RMD has joined the Centre for Leadership and Strategic Development (Centre LSD) as an ambassador for the Male Feminist Network, aiming to combat gender-based violence in Nigeria. During the inauguration in Abuja, RMD, 65, called for the inclusion of women in governance, stating that when women are involved, governance is more effective.

He shared his experience from a film project with an 80-woman crew, highlighting the need for respect towards women and urging men to change harmful attitudes and behaviors. RMD emphasized that violence against women should not be tolerated and that men must not objectify women.

Dr. Otiv Igbuzor, the Executive Director of Centre LSD, noted the organization's experience in engaging traditional and religious leaders to prevent gender-based violence.

The initiative aims to train at least 1,000 male leaders across Nigeria by April 2025, with a target of reaching 11,721 participants within the first year.
