RMD Joins Fight Against Gender-Based Violence in Nigeria

Richard Mofe-Damijo, popularly known as RMD, a 65-year-old veteran actor in Nollywood, has joined the fight against gender-based violence in Nigeria. Speaking in Abuja, he urged men to respect women and not objectify them, emphasizing that violence against women should not be tolerated.

RMD highlighted the importance of including women in decision-making processes, particularly in governance, and referenced a film he worked on two years ago that had an 80% female crew. He called on men to take responsibility for changing harmful attitudes and behaviors, insisting that the struggle against gender-based violence should not be solely borne by women.

RMD's remarks align with the efforts of the Male Feminist Network, which aims to engage men as allies in the fight for women's rights. Dr.
