Road Crash on Kano-Katsina Road Claims 12 Lives

A tragic road crash occurred on the Kano-Katsina road, claiming the lives of 12 individuals. The accident took place around 8:30 PM, with six victims, including the driver, found at the scene.

Six others were later hospitalized due to injuries sustained in the crash, with two individuals currently receiving treatment at Katsina General Hospital. Five additional victims suffered minor injuries and were treated and discharged.

Katsina State Governor Dikko Umar Radda expressed profound sorrow regarding the incident, describing it as a devastating loss for the state. In a statement made through media aide Ibrahim Kaula, Governor Radda lamented the tragedy occurring during the first 10 days of Dhul Hijjah, a significant period in Islam, which further deepens the grief among families in the Muslim community.

He urged motorists to exercise caution and strictly adhere to road safety regulations to prevent similar incidents. The governor extended condolences on behalf of the Katsina State Government to the bereaved families affected by the tragedy.
