Kogi State Seeks Federal Collaboration for Road Development

On April 15, 2026, Hon. Abdulsalami Deedat, the Kogi State Commissioner for Works, visited Senator David Umahi, the Federal Minister of Works, in Abuja.

The visit aimed to strengthen collaboration between Kogi State and the Federal Government to enhance road infrastructure development. Deedat expressed gratitude for the warm reception and commended President Bola Tinubu for his ongoing infrastructure initiatives, which he believes renew hope for the nation.

He highlighted the administration's commitment to road development, which has yielded visible results nationwide. Deedat emphasized the urgent need for attention to critical federal roads in Kogi State, including Lokoja-Oken, Ajaokuta, and Mopa-Isanlu roads, stating that improvements would significantly benefit residents and commuters.

He praised the efforts of the Federal Ministry of Works in delivering quality road projects across Nigeria and encouraged sustained momentum to improve citizens' lives. Senator Umahi acknowledged Kogi State's strategic position as a gateway to several parts of the country and assured continued federal support, disclosing plans to visit Kogi State to assess ongoing proposed projects.
