Robert Mugabe's Son Arrested for Attempted Murder in SA

Bellarmin Chatunga Mugabe, the youngest son of former Zimbabwean President Robert Mugabe, was arrested in South Africa on Thursday. He was detained alongside another individual on charges of attempted murder following a shooting incident at his residence in a wealthy suburb north of Johannesburg.

The police spokeswoman, Colonel Dimakatso Nevhuhulwi, declined to identify the suspects, and the motives behind the shooting remain unknown as investigations are underway. Bellarmin Mugabe, 29, was photographed in handcuffs being escorted by police.

His family has been in the spotlight for various controversies, including his mother, Grace Mugabe, who was accused of assaulting an employee at their home in Zimbabwe in 2019. Additionally, Robert Mugabe Jr., Bellarmin's brother, faced legal issues in October of the previous year for possession of cannabis in Harare, Zimbabwe.
