Rotary Club Advocates for Youth Employment in Warri

The Rotary Club in Warri, Delta State, conducted a peace walk on Sunday to advocate for youth employment and enhance peacebuilding efforts in the region. The event commenced at the Mother Redeem Catholic Church on Airport Road and concluded at the Angl Park Junction in Warri South Local Government Area.

It was led by the club's President, Rotarian Chri Iyoway, alongside prominent stakeholders including Ogedegb Lucki, Sheriff Mulad, and Ebi Regina Edukugho. The peace walk aimed to strengthen community ties and prevent conflicts among ethnic groups in the Warri environment.

Participants emphasized the need for the government, traditional institutions, and civil society leaders to promote and sustain peace in Delta State. Notably, environmentalist and activist Sheriff Mulad called on the Delta State government to prioritize large-scale industrialization as a solution to rising unemployment, which exacerbates socio-economic conditions.

He acknowledged the government's infrastructure achievements but stressed the urgent need for people-centered industrial policies to support job creation.
