Rotary Club and Oyo Ministry Honor Street Sweepers

On Wednesday, the Rotary Club Ibadan Jericho Metro, in partnership with the Oyo State Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources, conducted a street sweep exercise and food outreach aimed at recognizing the efforts of street sweepers in maintaining cleanliness in Ibadan. The event, which took place along the full length of the State Secretariat Road and Bodija Market, provided food items, including rice, to 100 sweepers.

Bimbola Boded, the President of the Rotary Club, emphasized the importance of ensuring a cleaner environment and proper sanitation, noting that the current month's theme is focused on the environment. She acknowledged the significant role of sweepers in changing the perception of Ibadan, previously known as a dirty city.

Dr. Ademola Aderinto, the Commissioner for Environment and Natural Resources, commended the Rotary Club's initiative, describing it as complementary to government efforts to maintain a clean environment.

Other notable attendees included Adewumi Adegok, Vice President of the Rotary Club, and Samuel Kolawole Adekunle, Managing Director of Universal Press Plc.
