Rotary District 9111 to Open Peace Institute in Ogun State

On June 30, 2026, Rotary District 9111, led by District Governor Rotarian Princ Henri Akinyel, will officially dedicate the Rotary Peace Institute building donated to Olabisi Onabanjo University in Ago Iwoye, Ogun State. This historic occasion will feature graduation ceremonies for cohorts 3 and 4 of the Peace and Conflict Studies program.

The event fulfills a promise made in September 2025 when Rotary District 9111 broke ground for the institute, symbolizing a commitment to fostering peace and empowering future leaders with the knowledge and skills to address conflict and security challenges. Past District Governor Rotarian Dr. Oluwol Kukoyi noted the success of multiple cohorts in the program, which equips students and community leaders with practical skills in conflict management and peacebuilding.

The dedication ceremony is expected to attract Rotary leaders, university management, and community stakeholders, emphasizing the institute's role in promoting social cohesion and sustainable development across Nigeria and the West African region.
