Rotary Expands to Seven States with AI Innovations

On Wednesday, during a handover ceremony in Abuja, Rotary unveiled its AI-powered innovations and announced an expansion into seven states. Owonikoko, the new district governor, emphasized the importance of technology, particularly artificial intelligence, in improving service delivery and coordination within Rotary.

The district plans to utilize AI platforms over the next ten years to manage community activities efficiently. Owonikoko urged members to embrace digital platforms to enhance membership engagement and retention, aiming to attract at least one new member per Rotarian.

The previous district governor, Dr. Joi Okoro, reported significant growth in membership and humanitarian projects during the 2025-2026 Rotary year, including contributions to the Rotary Foundation and various community health initiatives.

Key projects highlighted included allocations for polio eradication and medical equipment donations to local hospitals.
