PDP Welcomes Court Ruling on Ibadan Convention Legitimacy

The People's Democratic Party (PDP) expressed satisfaction with the Oyo State High Court ruling that upheld the legitimacy of the Ibadan Convention. The judgment, delivered by Justice Ladiran Akintola, confirmed that the convention was conducted transparently and in full compliance with the party's constitution and Nigerian law.

The court granted relief to claimant Folahan Malomo Adelabi, declaring the convention properly conducted under the supervision of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). The lawsuit, filed by Musibau Adetunbi, sought to compel the PDP to publicly advertise its electoral outcomes and to honor the court's earlier order regarding the convention's proceedings scheduled for November 15-16, 2025.

The PDP commended the court for its courage and reaffirmed its commitment to pursuing legitimate legal avenues to ensure justice is served, expressing confidence that the appellate court will uphold the law impartially.
