Ruling Houses Act to Fill Ipetumodu Stool After Conviction

The ruling houses in Ipetumodu, Osun State, are initiating actions to fill the vacant Apetu of Ipetumodu stool after obtaining a certified true copy of a court judgment against the town's monarch, Oba Joseph Oloyed. The judgment, delivered by Christoph Boyko on August 26, 2025, sentenced Oloyed to 56 months in prison for his involvement in a scheme exploiting COVID-19 emergency loan programs, resulting in a restitution order of $4,408,543.38 and the forfeiture of residential property in Medina, Ohio.

Following this conviction, the Osun State government stated it would not rely on media reports but would act based on official court documents. The ruling houses confirmed they possess the necessary court documents and plan to meet with Governor Ademola Adeleke to discuss the next steps regarding the stool.

Princ Olaboy Ayoola, representing the ruling houses, emphasized the importance of dialogue with the state government rather than protests.
