Russia and Nigeria Strengthen Bilateral Relations

On Thursday, Russia's Deputy Foreign Minister Evgenievich Borisenko met with Nigeria's newly appointed ambassador to Russia, Joseph Iji, in Moscow. The meeting, which was disclosed in a statement issued on Friday from Abuja by Daria Senyushina, the communications officer at the Russian Embassy in Nigeria, involved the presentation of copies of the ambassador's credentials.

The discussions aimed to strengthen the long-standing friendly relations between Nigeria and Russia, which date back 60 years. Key topics included intensifying political dialogue and deepening bilateral cooperation in various fields such as trade, economy, scientific, technical, and humanitarian areas.

The Russian Embassy in Abuja and the Consulate in Lagos facilitate the dynamic partnership between the two countries, which encompasses trade, military cooperation, education, and energy sectors.
