FG Shortlists 65 Students for N50 Million Grant

The Federal Government of Nigeria has shortlisted 65 students for the N50 million Student Venture Capital Grant (S-VCG), as announced in a statement signed by Folasad Boriowo, Director of Press and Public Relations at the Ministry of Education. This initiative aims to invest in innovative and entrepreneurial potential within Nigeria's university system.

Dr. Maruf Tunji Alausa, the Minister of Education, described the initiative as a strategic investment to develop future job creators.

The selection process involved a multi-stage evaluation, including AI-based screening and independent human validation to ensure fairness and accuracy. The evaluation committee comprised representatives from government, academia, industry, and the investment ecosystem.

The selected finalists will participate in a venture development bootcamp from March 26 to 29, 2026, which will include pitch sessions and workshops. The final grant decision will be based on performance during the bootcamp, with an award ceremony scheduled for March 29, 2026.

This initiative underscores the government's commitment to promoting innovation and supporting student entrepreneurship in Nigeria.
