NLC and Distillers Protest NAFDAC's Sachet Drinks Ban

The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and distillers, represented by the Distillers and Blenders Association of Nigeria, protested at NAFDAC's office in Lagos against the ban on sachet alcohol drinks. They emphasized the need to protect local manufacturers to prevent job losses and economic setbacks.

Solomon Adeboisin of the Trade Union Congress highlighted the potential risks to investments and millions of jobs due to the ban. NAFDAC had initiated the ban on alcohol products packaged in sachets and small PET bottles below 200ml, prompting concerns about its impact on the economy.
