Sadiq Umar, Bello El-Rufai Take Over Ranchers Bees FC, Promise NPFL Return

Sadiq Umar and Bello El-Rufai have officially taken over Ranchers Bees FC, with the aim of restoring the club to its former glory and securing a return to the Nigeria Premier Football League. The club, founded in the 1970s, had a successful past, including winning the 1988 CAF Cup Winners Cup and the 1989 WAFU Cup.

However, financial strains and administrative setbacks led to the team languishing in the Nigerian National League in recent years. Umar, a striker for Almería, and Bello, the son of former Kaduna State governor Nasir El-Rufai, expressed their excitement for the project, emphasizing their goal to not only revive the football team but also reconnect with the community.

The takeover was confirmed on Monday, signaling a bold attempt to bring Ranchers Bees FC back to prominence.
