Sahara Upstream Deploys MT D Adesanya for OML 18

Sahara Upstream has deployed the MT D Adesanya, a 380,000-barrel Medium Range (MR) tanker, to enhance crude oil evacuation capacity at OML 18. The vessel, with a capacity of over 62,000 cubic meters of crude oil, will serve as an additional mother vessel for OML 18 operations, complementing MT D Bayero.

Stationed at Bonny Anchorage, it will receive crude from shuttle vessels before transferring it to the Floating Storage and Offloading (FSO) Cawthorne facility. This deployment is expected to improve turnaround times and enhance evacuation efficiency.

Dr. Tosin Etomi, Chief Value Officer of Sahara Upstream, described the vessel as a significant investment in capacity and long-term value creation, reinforcing the company's commitment to sustainable production growth.

The vessel is also a tribute to the late Mr. Debola Adesanya, who significantly contributed to Sahara's growth in East Africa before his passing on May 1, 2026.
