Mohamed Salah Joins Trabzonspor Amid Hero’s Welcome

Mohamed Salah was warmly welcomed by hundreds of fans at Ataturk Airport in Istanbul on Wednesday as he arrived to finalize his move to Trabzonspor. The Egyptian captain, who recently left Liverpool after a successful nine-year stint where he scored 257 goals, donned Trabzonspor colors during his arrival.

Although his exact earnings at Trabzonspor remain unclear, as a free agent, the Turkish Super Lig club can allocate a larger portion of their budget towards his wages. Salah, who has netted 50 goals in the Champions League, will participate in European football next season with Trabzonspor, who finished third in the league, eight points behind champions Galatasaray.

If Trabzonspor does not advance to the league phase of the Europa League through the play-offs, they will drop to the Conference League. Salah previously became Liverpool’s highest earner with a reported contract of £400,000 per week.
