Sanusi: Education Essential for Effective Kingship

During the Hawan Nasarawa durbar held in Kano as part of the Eid el-Fitr celebrations, Sanusi, the Emir of Kano, remarked that kingship without education is worthless. He addressed the recent public reactions regarding his return to academic pursuits, clarifying that his decision is not influenced by ongoing legal issues, as it is not a court matter.

Sanusi encouraged others to pursue education, stressing that knowledge enhances leadership capacity and societal respect. He underscored the value of education within traditional institutions, noting that a king who lacks education cannot attain greater dignity.

His comments come amid ongoing discussions about the intersection of traditional leadership and modern education within the emirate system. The Hawan Nasarawa durbar this year was modified to ensure peace and security across the state, following directives from the Kano State Government.
