Sanwo-Olu Appoints Muyiwa Adetola as Lagos Accountant-General

On Tuesday, the Lagos State Government announced the appointment of Muyiwa John Adetola as the new Accountant-General, following the statutory retirement of his predecessor, Abiodun Muritala. The announcement was made via an official circular issued by the office of the Head of Service, Mr.

Bode Agoro, and shared on the Lagos State Government's Facebook page. Adetola, who previously served as the State Auditor-General, has been redeployed to lead the State Treasury Office.

His appointment took immediate effect on March 2, 2026. In the statement, Mr.

Agoro expressed wishes for Adetola's success in his new role and urged stakeholders to facilitate a smooth transition. This appointment reflects the state government's commitment to ensuring efficient accounting and public financial management.
