Sanwo-Olu Approves N50,000 Wage Award for Lagos Workers

On Friday, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State announced a N50,000 wage award for public sector workers to alleviate the impact of rising living costs. This decision, made during an International Workers' Day celebration at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, aims to support the workforce amid economic challenges, including increased fuel prices.

Sanwo-Olu commended the contributions of workers to the state's development, highlighting their essential role in sustaining Lagos. He acknowledged the housing and transportation challenges faced by workers, stating that the government is committed to addressing these issues.

The governor also mentioned ongoing investments in affordable housing and the expansion of the state's rail infrastructure to improve transportation. He reaffirmed his administration's commitment to dialogue with labor organizations and emphasized the importance of sustaining pension payments for retirees.
