Sanwo-Olu Launches Electrification Projects in Badagry

On a recent date, Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State inaugurated electrification projects in Badagry border communities, specifically along the Gaji, Seme, and Owod Apa corridor. This initiative includes the commissioning of three high-capacity towers and the rehabilitation of a 33kV distribution line, connecting fifty transformer substations.

The governor, represented by Deputy Governor Dr. Kadri Obafemi Hamzat, emphasized that these projects address long-standing electricity challenges and align with the administration's commitment to expanding energy access and building resilient infrastructure.

The electrification efforts are expected to enhance economic activities by extending business hours for traders and improving the quality of life for residents. The Lagos State Electricity Regulatory Commission is positioned to ensure that infrastructure investments deliver lasting benefits.

The projects are particularly significant for Badagry, a culturally rich town that serves as a gateway to the Republic of Benin and holds substantial economic potential for cross-border trade.
