Sanwo-Olu Affirms Lagos Readiness for National Intermediate Games

Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has confirmed the state's preparedness to host the maiden National Intermediate Games, organized by the National Sports Commission, set for September 2026. During an inspection of facilities, including the Teslim Balogun Stadium, which is undergoing extensive upgrades, Sanwo-Olu expressed confidence in the state's ability to deliver a world-class event.

The inspection team, led by Bukola Olopade, Director General of the National Sports Commission, expressed satisfaction with the preparations. The Lagos State government has established a local organizing committee to ensure the event's success, reflecting the state's long-standing history of hosting major sports events.

The National Intermediate Games aim to bridge the gap between youth sports and elite competition, providing a sustainable pathway for talent discovery and development. The event is expected to create opportunities for young athletes and enhance Lagos's reputation in the sports sector.
