Lagos Revamps Rowe Park for Upcoming Intermediate Games

The Lagos State government is undertaking renovations of Rowe Park hall and squash courts in preparation for the Intermediate Games. Wahid Oshodi, the chairman of the agency overseeing the project, confirmed that Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has approved the updates necessary to bring the facilities up to international standards.

Oshodi assured that the renovations will be completed by the end of September, with work already in progress. The project aims to enhance grassroots sports and provide recreational opportunities for youth, keeping them engaged and off the streets.

Lekan Fatodu, the Director General of the Lagos State Sports Commission (LSSC), described the renovations as a turning point, recalling how many Nigerian sports icons began their journeys at the complex. He emphasized the importance of proper maintenance to ensure the facilities serve their intended purposes, whether for recreation or competition, and expressed readiness to host the nation immediately for the games scheduled in October.
