Kwara PDP Candidate Oladimeji Rejects Saraki's Leadership

Hassan Oladimeji, the governorship candidate for the Kwara State People's Democratic Party (PDP), announced on Saturday that he no longer recognizes former Senate President Bukola Saraki as his political leader. This declaration comes in light of recent suspensions within the party, particularly concerning the leadership of the Magaji Ngeri ward, which has been embroiled in factional crises.

Oladimeji stated that he belongs to the Kabiru Turaki-led faction, distancing himself from the Nyesom Wike faction. He dismissed the suspension of the ward leadership as baseless, asserting that he does not belong to the suspended group.

Oladimeji emphasized his active role within the Turaki-led interim national working committee of the PDP and criticized the lack of dialogue among party leaders, which he believes is exacerbating the current political crisis. He acknowledged Saraki's influence in his political career but insisted that his political path has diverged from Saraki's camp.

The ongoing factional disputes within the PDP have deepened, with rival factions claiming legitimacy.
