Meghan Markle's Father Undergoes Emergency Surgery to Amputate Leg

Thomas Markle Sr., Meghan Markle's father, underwent emergency surgery in the Philippines to amputate his left leg below the knee after a blood clot caused his foot to turn blue and eventually black. The 81-year-old spent three hours in surgery after the sudden health scare.

Thomas Markle Jr. revealed that doctors informed the family that removing the leg was a life-or-death decision. Markle Sr., who resides in the Philippines, has been estranged from his daughter, the Duchess of Sussex, since her marriage to Prince Harry in 2018.
