Security Guard Arrested for Assaulting 10-Year-Old Girl

The Kebbi State Police Command arrested a 36-year-old security guard, Faruku Muham, attached to an Islamiyya school in Jega Local Government Area, for allegedly sexually assaulting a 10-year-old girl. The arrest was disclosed by the State Commissioner of Police, Umar Hadejia, during a press briefing in Birnin Kebbi on Wednesday.

The incident reportedly occurred on June 14, 2026, at approximately 4:30 PM, when the suspect allegedly lured the minor into a room located within the school premises. Following a complaint involving the minor, the police initiated an investigation into the matter.

The police assured that the suspect would be prosecuted according to the law if found culpable. The command reiterated its commitment to protecting vulnerable children and urged parents and guardians to promptly report cases of abuse and exploitation.

Hadejia encouraged residents to continue providing credible information to law enforcement agencies to aid efforts in tackling crime across the state.
