Bauchi Man Arrested for Alleged Defilement of Minor

Muhammadu Audu, a 50-year-old man, was apprehended by the Bauchi Police for the alleged defilement of a 9-year-old girl in Bulkachuwa, Katagum Local Government Area. The incident took place around 17:00 hours on June 14, 2026.

According to the Bauchi Police Command's spokesperson, S.P. Nafiu Habib, Audu lured the victim, who was selling soybean cakes, under the pretext of building something.

He allegedly took her to an incomplete building and engaged in unlawful sexual intercourse, resulting in injuries to her private parts. During interrogation, Audu confessed to committing the crime and threatened to kill the victim with a knife if she disclosed the matter.

The victim's parents were informed, and she was immediately taken to a primary health care facility in Bulkachuwa. Audu is currently in custody, and the Commissioner of Police, Mr. Sani Omolori Aliyu, assured the public of the command's commitment to protecting women and children across the state and conducting a thorough investigation into the incident.
