Father Arrested for Alleged Incest and Abuse in Kwara

Abdulrauf Ambali, a 40-year-old man, was arrested by the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Kwara State for allegedly committing incest and sexually abusing his 14-year-old daughter. The arrest followed a report made to the NSCDC on June 16, after the girl had been missing for approximately three weeks.

Upon investigation, it was revealed that the girl had fled her father's residence due to enduring months of sexual abuse and intimidation. She disclosed that she had been threatened and beaten whenever she resisted her father's advances.

The investigation indicated that the girl became pregnant in May 2026 as a result of the abuse, and Ambali allegedly arranged for her to undergo an abortion at a private facility, warning her not to disclose the incidents. The NSCDC condemned the actions of Ambali, describing them as a grave violation of the rights and dignity of the child, and emphasized their commitment to tackling child abuse and gender-based violence in the state.
