Steve Clarke Signs Four-Year Contract as Scotland Coach

Steve Clarke has signed a new four-year contract with the Scottish Football Association, which will keep him as the head coach of the Scotland national football team until after the 2028 European Championship and the 2030 World Cup. His previous contract was set to expire in July.

Clarke, who is 62 years old, expressed relief at securing a long-term commitment ahead of the World Cup, stating it is a true honor to lead the squad in their first men's World Cup appearance since 1998. Under his management since 2019, Scotland has qualified for three tournaments, including the upcoming World Cup in North America.

Clarke's tenure has seen significant achievements, including leading Scotland to the delayed 2021 European Championship and an impressive qualification campaign for Euro 2024. The Scottish Football Association's chief executive, Ian Maxwell, emphasized the importance of focusing on future achievements and not merely resting on past successes.
