Supreme Court of Nigeria Launches Digital Case Management System

On Wednesday, the Supreme Court of Nigeria commenced an electronic case management process, marking the end of manual filing of cases. Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Kudirat Keker Ekun, officiated the launch of the Nigerian Case Management System (NCM), a significant reform aimed at modernizing judicial administration and improving efficiency.

The NCM will require mandatory electronic uploads of process records for pending appeals, starting from September to December 2026. This system is designed to support the entire lifecycle of appeals, reducing reliance on manual processes and paper-based record management.

Justice Keker Ekun emphasized that the NCM will enhance case tracking, document management, and overall workflow within court registries. The first phase will focus on mandatory uploads, with subsequent expansions planned quarterly.

Justice Kashim Zannah, Chairman of the Judiciary Information Technology Policy Committee, described the launch as a historic milestone that will transform justice administration across Nigeria.
