SDP Dissolves Imo Exco, Appoints 17-member Caretaker Committee

The Social Democratic Party (SDP) has dissolved its Imo State Working Committee and appointed a 17-member Caretaker Committee to oversee the party's affairs in the state for the next 90 days. The decision was conveyed in a letter signed by the party's National Secretary, Olu Agunloye, citing reports of activities within the Imo State chapter as the reason for the dissolution.

The National Working Committee (NWC) of the SDP considered the reports and decided to dissolve the State Working Committee in line with the party's amended 2022 Constitution. The newly appointed Caretaker Committee, led by Augustine Okere as acting state chairman, has been tasked with reorganizing the chapter and restoring credibility ahead of future elections.

The committee's mandate includes recruiting new members, especially youth and women, ensuring regular meetings, and providing monthly reports to the National Vice Chairman and National Chairman.
