Abubakar Gombe Elected SDP National Chairman in Bauchi

Abubakar Gombe has been elected as the National Chairman of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) during the party's 2026 national convention, which took place at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Stadium in Bauchi. The convention, announced on Saturday, also saw the election of several other national officers.

Dr. Olu Agunloye was elected as the National Secretary, while Sen.

Dr. Ugochukwu Uba became the Deputy National Chairman (South).

Hajiya Mariam Maggi Batub was appointed as the National Treasurer, and Barr. Joseph Achil Abu was elected as the National Organizing Secretary.

Other officials include Araba Rufu Aiyenigha as National Public Secretary, Barr. Aderemi Ahimbela as National Legal Adviser, Bello Ado Hussaini as National Financial Secretary, Hajiya Sa Adatu Abdullahi as National Woman Leader, Hon.

Daniel Ib as National Youth Leader, and Mr. Rosemari Effiong and Chief Lekan Alabi as leaders for persons with disabilities.
