SDP National Convention Scheduled for May 9, 2026

The Social Democratic Party (SDP) is set to hold its national convention on May 9, 2026, in Bauchi. Prof.

Sadiq Gomb, the national chairman, reaffirmed the party's commitment to a transparent and credible process leading up to the convention. Preparations are underway, and due to security challenges, the venue was confirmed for Bauchi.

The party has established four committees, including a screening committee, an electoral committee, a convention committee, and a sub-committee, each tasked with specific responsibilities. The screening process for aspirants will commence at the party's secretariat, which is registered with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
