SDP Re-elects Prof. Sadiq Gombe as National Chairman

On Saturday, during the 2026 national convention of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) held at Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Stadium in Bauchi, Prof. Sadiq Umar Abubakar Gombe was re-elected as the National Chairman of the party.

His return to the position was unopposed, and he will lead the party into the 2027 general elections. Alongside him, an 11-member National Executive Committee (NEC) was elected to manage the party's affairs for the next four years.

Key members of the newly elected committee include Ugochukwu Uba as Deputy National Chairman (South), Dr. Olu Agunloye as National Secretary, Hajiya Mariam Maggi Batubo as National Treasurer, and Joseph Achil Abu as National Organizing Secretary.

In his acceptance speech, Gombe assured party members that the new leadership would fulfill its responsibilities as servant leaders in accordance with the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and the Electoral Act.
