Security squad uncovers cult plot to disrupt Edo by-elections

The Edo State Special Security Squad (ESSS) has uncovered a cult plot to disrupt the upcoming by-elections in the state on August 16, 2025. The ESSS raised an alarm about the alleged plan by suspected cultists to instigate violence during the elections.

The agency warned that cultists and other criminal elements involved in the plot must abandon their plans, emphasizing that security forces would be fully mobilized to ensure a peaceful election process.
