Free Healthcare Services Offered in Kaduna Community

On July 24, 2026, the Society for Family Health (SFH), through its Delivering Innovation in Self-Care (DISC) programme, collaborated with the Kaduna State Primary Health Care Board (KSPHCB) to offer free preventive healthcare services to residents in Kaduna. This community outreach took place at the Kano road market area and was aligned with the global theme “Test, Track and Thrive,” which promotes routine health screenings and healthy lifestyle choices.

The initiative served thousands, including 60 persons with disabilities, and provided various services: 345 blood pressure screenings, 56 blood glucose tests, 100 malaria tests, 15 pregnancy tests, and 35 family planning counselling sessions. Dorcas Yemi Danladi, special quality advisor at SFH Nigeria, emphasized the importance of knowing one’s health status for early detection of conditions like hypertension and diabetes.

Ibrahim Hashim, representing KSPHCB, praised the initiative and advocated for ongoing collaboration to enhance community-based health interventions.
