JEF Launches Free Medical Outreach for 3,000 Women in Kaduna

The Jennifer Etuh Foundation (JEF) initiated a five-day free medical outreach at the Jennifer Etuh Specialist Hospital in Mallagum, Kaura Local Government Area, Kaduna State, from August 17 to August 21. This outreach aims to serve over 3,000 women and residents from underserved communities, addressing healthcare access issues.

Joe Otu, Programme Manager of JEF, emphasized the initiative's goal to provide quality healthcare to those facing financial and geographical barriers. Established in 2020 in memory of Mrs. Jennifer Ramatu Etuh, JEF has set up six specialist medical facilities across Nigeria's six geopolitical zones.

The foundation has reached 97,724 patients through 236,557 interventions in 24 medical outreach events across 10 states. On the first day of the Kaduna outreach, over 600 patients were treated, revealing high cases of hypertension and diabetes.

The outreach offers free medical services, including surgeries, vaccinations, and essential supplies. JEF also runs a three-year Kaduna Women Economic Empowerment Programme targeting 3,000 beneficiaries in skills acquisition and agricultural production.
