Senate Confirms Enikanolaiye and Tegbe as Ministers

On Wednesday, the Nigerian Senate confirmed the appointments of Ambassador Sola Enikanolaiye as Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and Joseph Olasunkanmi Tegbe as Minister of Power. This confirmation is part of President Bola Tinubu's cabinet reshuffle aimed at enhancing Nigeria's diplomatic efforts and addressing challenges in the power sector.

Enikanolaiye, a seasoned diplomat with a career spanning three decades, previously served as a senior special assistant on foreign affairs and has held various positions in international cities such as Addis Ababa, Belgrade, Ottawa, London, and New Delhi. Tegbe's appointment comes at a critical time for Nigeria's power sector, which is facing instability and infrastructure deficits.

He brings over 30 years of experience in fiscal policy and economic reform, having served as a senior partner at KPMG Africa and currently as the Director General of Global Liaison for Nigeria-China Strategic Partnership. The Senate's confirmation follows the resignation of former Minister of Power Adebayo Adelabu, who is pursuing a governorship race in Oyo State.
