Akpabio Approves N50 Million for Abducted Families' Support

Senate President Godswill Akpabio announced a financial support package of N50 million during a plenary session on Wednesday. This initiative aims to assist five families affected by recent abduction incidents in Oriire Local Government Area, Ogbomoso, Oyo State.

The support includes N10 million for each family of three servicemen who lost their lives during a rescue operation, as well as families of two teachers who were killed. Akpabio stated that this financial assistance is part of the Federal Government's efforts to strengthen and support affected families following the tragic incidents.

He also called for intensified support for security agencies to ensure the rescue of kidnap victims across the country. In a prior speech, Senator Abdul Ningi urged the Senate to ensure compensation for victims of recent attacks, warning against any form of discrimination in these efforts.
